Education Expert Advisory Group

Terms of Reference

Purpose: The role of the Education Expert Advisory Group is to provide expert advice to the Board, as needed, on dyslexia/specific learning difficulty. 

The function of this working group is:

  • To inform the Board about current educational trends and relevant new research.
  • To develop and review education policy.
  • To develop and review educational psychology assessment policy.
  • To provide expert advice on any education matter, as requested by the Board.

Membership: The maximum number of members of the Expert Advisory Group shall be set at 10 (excluding ex-officio members).  The membership should reflect a wide range of skills and competencies in the field of dyslexia, education and educational psychology. The Head of Psychological and Educational Services will be a lead member.

Chair: Donald Ewing, Head of Psychological and Education Service.

Reporting: The Working Group will submit a report to the Board after its meetings, outlining progress made and any draft policies for review and approval, as well as providing expert advice on specific education matters as requested.
