Annual General Meeting 2006

The thirty-third Annual General Meeting of the Dyslexia Association of Ireland was held at the Glenroyal Hotel, Maynooth, Co. Kildare, on
Saturday, 6th May 2006.
In accordance with the Articles of Association of the DAI, an election was held at the AGM for twenty members (max.) to serve on the National Executive Committee.
As well as the business of the AGM, there was a full programme of talks and discussion sessions.
Programme
- 10.00 Welcome - Mary Byrne, National President
- 10.30 Coping with Dyslexia personal experiences of two young people who have recently come through the educational system.
- 11.30 Coffee
- 11.45 Annual General Meeting - see agenda below
- 11.45 Programme for Second Level Students only
Closed discussion group with the two young speakers and a facilitator.
- 1.00 Lunch Break - A variety of lunch options are available in the hotel and in Maynooth town.
- 2.30 Discussion Session Small group discussions to identify gaps in the services for children with dyslexia in mainstream schooling.
- 3.30 Feedback from groups to facilitate compilation of a list of needs to be presented to the National Council for Special Education (NCSE)
and the Department of Education and Science.
